Great use of dialogue, memorable characters, dark moments, make this fun to watch. It can be pretty violent especially with a “certain”someone’s ear.

Reservoir Dogs is an interesting and simplistic film. It doesn’t stretch far to get its point across and the plot is straightforward. Who did it. However, the film is littered with constant profanity and violence. VIOLENCE: SEVERE A man is shown with a bullet hole in his belly as he screams, cries and squirms around in the back seat of a car, which is also smeared and splattered with blood. After, he is taken out of the car and put onto the floor where another man holds him in his arms as blood pools on the floor around him. He is shown lying on the ground with blood pooled everywhere for the rest of the film. A few cops are shown being shot during flashbacks, however this is minimally bloody and tame for Quentin Tarantino. Two men aim guns at each other. A cop is taken out of the trunk of a car and beaten senseless over and over again as blood spurts out of his face. During this he is also cursed at and tied to a chair. A man whom is tied to a chair is viscously beaten in the face before he has duct tape wrapped around his mouth before the man torturing him takes out a shaving blade and slices him above the eyebrow with it. We hear is muffled screams of horror before the man slices his ear off with the blade offscreen, however we hear this and we immediately see the torturer hold up his severed ear. After this, the torturer takes gasoline from his car and pours it all over the mans head (where is ear was) and we see close-up and extensive images of his disgusting injury. Before he could be lit on fire, though, the torturer is shot repeatedly in the chest, gratuitously spraying blood everywhere and sending him to the ground. Both the mans bloody corpse and the cop are shown for the rest of the film, bloody and graphic injuries included. A man is shot several times in the chest, spraying out blood with every bullet. In the final scene, 4 people are shot at the same time, spraying and splattering blood everywhere. 2 of the men die instantly while the other 2 collapse to the floor bloodied and injured. They are both shown covered in blood, holding each other before they are both shot dead offscreen. Nearly every dead body or injury in this film is shown for the remainder of its runtime due to the fact that the film mostly takes place in one room and rarely others, which makes the violence much more graphic. LANGUAGE: SEVERE 270 uses of “f*ck”, 1 use of “c*cksucker”, around 4 uses of “n*gger”, frequent uses of “sh*t”, 1 use of “f*ggot”, around 11-14 uses of “d*ck”, some use of “b*tch”, “pr*ck”, “ass”, “hell” and “damn”. Constant and obnoxious use of pervasive language throughout, this is no doubt the most explicit part of the film despite the violence. SEXUAL CONTENT: MILD Some heavy sexual references to masturbating, oral sex and more, however no onscreen sex or nudity. OVERALL: 15+ for disturbing violent images and for strong pervasive language

I honestly didnt like this movie just because it didnt have as much action as a typical tarantino movie like django, but i know that its a classic so i guess it is okay. There was a lot of language and there is a character who is bleeding out for the duration of the movie, and a torture scene that is kinda graphic. A good movie for teens IF they can understand it, its more complex than the matrix in the sense that you dont know the characters(they are refered to as colors) and you dont know what happened.

Okay for 12 and easily

entertaining movie with strong acting memorable characters Only concern is the obscene language but if your child can take the language and the graphic scenes then you're in for a sweet movie night

My 12 year old watched this in secret when he came home from school early. When we eventually found out, and got over our anger, I asked him how it was. And he said it was great, a lot of swearing but he didn’t understand why it was an 18. He also said it lacked in story, which it does, as I’ve watched it a million times myself. It may not have a great story, and it may not stick with you, but it’s fun, and me and my son have watched it many times since.

There may not be actual sex, but the sex talk is extremely graphic. Inappropriate for most kids under 16.
